Welcome to the 2011/2012 School year!!!

First of all I would like to Say Congratulations to all the Graduates of the 2010/2011 School year!
Also I would like to say Congratulations to all the Summer 2011 Americorps Graduates!

Welcome all New & old members to the NMHU Media Arts Club! I hope everyone has a great year and we have lots of fun!

Today was our first meeting of the year and it turned out to pretty productive! Here is the over view:

• Officers were elected and are listed to the left of the blog page. Congratulations to everyone!
• Virginia(me:)) has gathered donations and will put together the raffles to be printed. 
• Everyone will come up with a T-Shirt Design and we will select the best one(s) for printing. The designs need to be presented at the next meeting.
• Everyone will think of a creative fundraiser to raise money! This will also be presented at the next meeting!
• Kerry has submitted the Constitution & By-Laws to Margaret
• One thing I forgot to mention - We need someone to represent the club at the club/organization meetings which, I believe, are held once a month. I will find out the dates and times and then post them. 

Note: I will no longer be posting on blogspot or facebook but don't worry our very new Secretary will be taking over! Everyone welcome our newest member of the club and newest Secretary Elizabeth!

Important Dates To Remeber

The following are dates I'd like to remind everyone about, and encourage you all to please be there.

• Every Tues. 5:00p.m

         General Club Meetings 

• Thurs. Oct. 21st, 5:00p.m

         Club get together to decorate the Media Arts buildings, please help us make our area spooktacular.

• Fri. Oct. 22nd, 7:00p.m

         Guest speaker who has a masters in Media Arts, presenting at the United World College.

• Wed. Oct. 27th, Time TBA

         We will be joining a couple other clubs to host a Halloween Kid's Carnival at Melody Park.

• Sat. Oct. 30th, 2:00p.m

          Media Arts Club Halloween Party. We will be having a potluck, you may bring anything you choose. We are going to have some games going on and would like to screen a movie. Please e-mail Virginia and give her any suggestions to which movie you would like to see. Remember to come in costume, we are also going to have a costume contest!

Officer Meeting 

Thank you officers for attending our officer meeting last week, we got a lot situated!

Las Vegas 175th Anniversary

I'd like to thank everyone who volunteered at the 175th anniversary events at the Plaza Park. We all had lots of fun.

Bake Sale

I'd also like to thank everyone for participating in the bake sale. Much appreciation to those who brought (or attempted to bring;o)) baked goods, they were yummy! We had a great turn out. Congratulations club members!

Congratulations to all elected officers looks like the year is under way and we are ready for many productions. I am very proud to be working with everyone

Meeting Notes

• We have chosen Tara's script, the theme is "No texting during movies". Those who have taken an HD class and would like to be director must submit a story board based on Tara's script by Tuesday Sept. 28, 2010, which will be our next meeting.
• We will be having a "Paint the town Purple" bake sale on Wednesday Sept.29,2010 from 10am-4pm. There will be a sign up sheet in Virginia's box (located in Mary's office) to sign up for what you will be bringing to the bake sale, please be sure to make your baked goods purple (be creative!). We will discuss what time you would like to work the bake sale during Tuesday meeting. If everyone is still interested in doing a cake walk we must submit 1 cake and include it on the sheet when you sign up for what you will bring.
• Las Vegas New Mexico 175th Anniversary! I will be e-mailing everyone the brochures to saturate the campus with the information for the events. Also it was asked of us to memorize the schedule so if anyone asks we can let them know immediately. I have not received information regarding our position in volunteering for the event, except for promoting the brochures. I will let everyone as soon as this information does become available.
