Meeting 02/11/2010

  • We will be buying the paint for the PC lab. We will also need volunteers to help paint the lab which will probably be a one day project during the weekend.
  • Kerry will be installing the new surround sound system in room 100! He will need help with the installation if you are interested please speak to Kerry.
  • Mary came in to talk to the club about participating in New Mexico Association of Museums Annual Conference.
The conference has been held in many areas such as Ruidoso, Santa Fe, Silver City, Los
Alamos, Roswell, Farmington, Taos and Albuquerque. This year it will be held in here in Las
Vegas, NM. This is a great opportunity for everyone to network.
NMHU Media Arts Faculty, Staff and students have participated in the past by traveling to
the conference and presenting student work. The dates will be November 3-7, 2010 which
means this will next semester but I have a feeling if you are very interested there will be
much to do before then.
The Planning committee is looking for volunteers to help with setting up, the planning and
much more. Also it is possible we will be receiving a free pass to the conference. I would highly
suggest everyone attend this conference. Please let Kerry, Veronica, Mary or I know if you
are interested as soon as possible. Remember this is a big event so if you are interested you
must be dedicated to participation.
  • We will start selling candy and snacks out of the equipment check-out window. Everyone start thinking of snacks you feel would sell the most.
  • Raffles are extended to April 1, 2010. We still have some available.
  • I will be speaking to Donna Martinez about teaming up with Ilfield movie night to play student films before the movie begins. If this moves forward the club would be responsible with meeting with Donna to screen the films entered to make sure they meet the standards of the Auditorium.
  • Party time! We will hold a club pizza party on February 25, 2010 at 8pm in MAW. We talked about hooking the nintendo wii up to the big screen in Room 100. Also having the playstation in the fireplace area. Anyone who has a game they would like to play feel free to bring to the party. The club will provide the pizza and cokes but everyone is welcome to bring candy, desserts or any type of snack.
  • The next meeting will be held February 25, 2010 in the fireplace area. Those who are unable to make these meetings please email Veronica or I times that are best for you. We will set up a second meeting time to meet those schedules.
  • Two officers positions are still open. Secretary and project manager. Those interested please email Veronica or I as soon as possible. We need to fill these positions by the next meeting.
  • Thank you to those whom helped with the Blue Oyster cult! Good Job!

Hope you had a good day!
See you at the next meeting!
